You’ll be the front line for customer communication – the voice of HMRC – handling contact by telephone, correspondence and webchats. Digital information management will also form a portion of your work, and while such information may be alien to you, our structured induction training is designed to build on your existing skills and is a fantastic learning opportunity. As such, a basic knowledge of up-to-date IT systems, such as Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, would help; although, this role is the perfect opportunity to develop those IT skills!
HMRC are looking for dynamic individuals who can handle difficult and enjoyable conversations in equal measure. First and foremost you will help the majority of our customers who want to get their taxes right first time; and pursue the minority of customers who want to cheat the system. Pursuing customer debt is never easy but is important as the money we bring in helps pay for vital public services. This work is both rewarding and admirable.
